Cultural Competency Curriculum for Disaster Preparedness and Crisis Response

Target Audience This course is designed for First Responders of disaster preparedness and crisis response including Emergency Medical Technicians, Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Social Workers.
Learning Objectives Having completed this course, the learner will be able to:
- Discuss issues related to cultural competency in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery
- Identify strategies to promote self-awareness about attitudes, beliefs, biases, and behaviors that may influence the disaster services they provide
- Devise strategies to enhance skills toward the provision on culturally and linguistically competent care in disaster situations
- Demonstrate the advantages of the adoption of the CLASS Standards as appropriate in their emergency services
